9. APPRECIATION MEDITATION

Now that we’ve looked at the relationship we have with ourselves, others and released what we may have still been carrying I’d like to move forward into appreciation. It’s hard to fully feel appreciation for our relationships until we’ve let go of what we may have been holding against them. Likewise, our external relationships always mirror our internal relationship. So if we aren’t appreciating and filling our own cup, it’s really hard to show up for others. Once we have watered ourselves and put down the past — we can fully own where we are and shift from expectation and into gratitude.

Below are two meditations focused on different areas of our lives:
1. Ourselves, (filling ourselves with light energy, replenishing our bodies)
2. Gratitude for our relationships + Gratitude for life

When will focus on firstly filling up ourselves, we can give more freely and meaningfully to those around us. It makes it possible to extend our time and energy to those around us. The intent of the second and third meditations is to attune our focus on what we appreciate, rather than what we don’t. This simple shift will change every relationship in your life for the better.

Try these meditations (a mix of both or whichever resonates with you most) everyday for the next week. See how you feel and if it makes a difference in your capacity to show up for yourself and others.

If someone comes to mind when in the second meditation (where we focus on someone in our lives) send them a message or a text to let them know. So often we just assume the people in our lives know how much we appreciate them — what if they didn’t? A simple thoughtful text can go a long way.
